One of the classic earring designs that are still in demand in the market today is the hoop earrings. This type of earring is a circle wire that is made with a lock and is worn by inserting through a pierce in the lower earlobe. Wire Loop Earrings
This type of hoop earring is the simplest and oldest style of earrings. The earring is made of a single wire that is formed into a circular shape, where one end has a tiny loop and the other end is bent slightly to make a hook. The end with the hook shape is the one that is inserted through the pierce in the ear, and it is inserted to the tiny loop to be locked.

Hinged Hoops
The thickness of the hoop of the earring is usually thicker than the ear piercing. This is why a thinner wire is attached to the earring and made in to a hinge. This is the part of the earring which is inserted into the pierce in the ear. There is often a small hump to the ear wire. This hump lets the lower portion of the earring to freely dangle. More often than not, these earrings nowadays have this style because it can support a lot of weight while still keeping the earring secure. However, there may be instances where this style of hoop earring can get easily snagged on something because a sideway motion can get the hinged wire easily opened.

Fixed Bead Ring
The design of this type of earring is similar to the one with the wire loop. The only difference is the small bead that is in place instead of the looped end. The free end of the wire is the part that goes through the pierce in the ear. Once it has been inserted through the pierce, it locks by going through the bead. This makes it harder for the earring to get snagged.

There are earrings of this type which are made of silver, white gold and 14k gold. One of the reasons why people buy hoop earrings is because of the variety of styles that you can choose from. There are large hoops and there are small hoops. There are designs which are intricate, and there are some that are simple. Discounted jewelry can be bought on the internet. Even the most expensive designs such as the ones which have a diamond or some precious stones are available.
